This could be the next films about Middle-earth

Så nu är midgårdsäventyren till ända i och med att Femhärarslaget har premiär. Fantastiska filmer och tolkningar på fantastiska böcker. Men vad kan komma härnäst?
Problemet är att Tolkiens släktingar fortfarande har filmrättigheterna till de andra böckerna och som det verkar just nu, högst ovilliga att sälja dessa.
Men önska kan man ju få göra. Här är min lista över historier från Tolkiens penna som skulle kunna bli riktigt bra och spännande filmer.

1. Gondolins fall.

Ett avsnitt ur Silmarillion om det stora alvslottet Gondolin som är gömt för världen men som plötsligt upptäcks och belägras av ondskans arméer. Lite Minas Tirith fast upphöjt till tio.

2. Beren och Luthien.

Ja, det är historien som Aragorn nynnar om i Sagan om ringen. Tragisk kärlek mellan alv och människa och historien om hur dessa bryter sig in i ondskans boning och stjäl en gudomlig ädelsten.

3. Numénor.

Tolkiens egen version av Atlantis. En ö, eller snarare mindre kontinent som befolkas av dunedains ättlingar. Här finns mängder med olika historier, ända tills ön sjunker ner i havet på grund av att numenoranerna försöker inta gudarnas hemvist. Och vems fel är detta, jo Saurons, vem annars?

4. Smidningen av maktens ringar.

Eftersom prequel-filmer är på tapeten skulle denna mycket väl kunna bli en intressant och sevärd historia.

5. Sista alliansens krig mot Mordor.

Hela det slag som vi ser i inledningen på första Ringen-filmen. Här finns mängder med historier som skulle kunna bli bra filmer, och med en självklar final i det stora slaget vid Barad-Dür.

So now Middle-Earth-adventures is finished. Great movies and interpretations of great books. But what can come next?
The problem is that Tolkien's relatives still has the film rights to the other books, and as it seems right now, no more than reluctant to sell them.
But you can wish that something happens. Here is my list of stories from the pen of Tolkien that can turn into really good and exciting films.

1. The fall of Gondolin.

This is a episode in the Silmarillion that is about the great elvenkingdom of Gondolin. A kingdom hidden from the world but that suddenly is discovered and besieged by evil armies. Like the siege of Minas Tirith fixed to the power of ten.

2. Beren and Luthien.

Yes, it is the same story that Aragorn humming about in The Lord of the Rings. Tragic love between an elvish woman and a mortal man and the story of how these breaks into evil abode and steal a divine gemstone.

3. Númenor.

Tolkien's own version of Atlantis. An island, or rather smaller continent, populated by the dunedains descendants (the old people that Aragorn was a part of). There are lots of different stories here. Unfortunately it is a bad ending when the island sinks into the sea due to numenoranerna trying to occupy the Gods. And whose fault is that if not Sauron, who else?

4. Forging of the Rings of Power.

Since prequelmovies are in the news, this could very well be an interesting and worth seeing history.

5. The last alliance's war against Mordor.

This is the battle we see in the beginning of the first Ringmovie. There are lots of stories that would make good movies here, and with an obvious final in the great battle of Barad-Dur.
