English version:

The worst changes in the Lord of the Rings

Peter Jackson's movie version is fantastic in every way and that there will be changes from the book is of course inevitable. But there are some changes that I think is so big that they actually make the movie worse and in some cases completely change the characters too much.
Below I list the five worst changes that the film could well do without:

5. The removal of the hobbits adventure in the barrow-downs.
In the book Frodo and the other hobbits finding their self trapped in the barrow-downs and loses almost their lives if it wheren´t for Tom Bombadil. It isn't only an exciting part of their adventures  but it's also explains why Merry's sword hurt nazgülen in the Battle of Pelennors plain. The introduction of Tom Bombadil specifically for this kind of scene had not worked but another rescue of the Hobbits wouldn't be impossible for Jackson.
4. The removal of the Battle of Shire.
I know, Return of the King has far too many end, and now I am calling another. But the battle for the Shire is important and something that summons up Tolkiens whole idea into one little adventure. Full Ring trilogy permeated the nature of Tolkien's romantic worldview in which modernity industrial development is emerging as destructive symbolized by Saruman's doings. The battle for the Shire aim is precisely this, to protect the old and untouched and fight against industrial destructive forces. Of course, now we're talking about another half hour. But as a supplement to the extended version, perhaps at the expense of other complementary scenes?
3. Frodo and Sam brought to Osgiliath.
Stupid and quite unnecessary.
2. Elves help at Helm's Deep.
"The last alliance between humans and elves," said Galadriel in the beginning of the first film. But apparently not. And Jackson's death on the elf Haldir. And how the hell could this elvish army get so fast from Lorien to Helm's Deep?
1. Turning the Ents into idiots.
This is in my opinion, perhaps the largest overshoot of them all. That the Ents, ancient trees creatures, depicted as leisurely and slow agrees well with the book, but that they also would be total idiots was never Tolkiens purpose. On the contrary the Ents is creatures full of Wisdom, even greater than Gandalfs in some ways. Treebeard has eye on Saruman's doings and at the Entmoot they also decided to intervene. But in the movie they doesn't give a shit. It's not until Pippin gets Treebeard to wander south and discover clearcuts that they figure out what happened. Anything to get an extra dramaturgical dispute, however, at the expense of Tolkien's entire idea of what the Ents really is. Change the whole episode - on the stump!
